Mazda MPV Recall
In a recall dated July 7, 1999, Mazda issued a recall for 2000 MPV minivan models.
The said model needs replacement of the lower intake manifold assembly. Information
dissemination was done through the phone. Improper combination of the lower intake
manifold, fuel injector and fuel rail are the main defects for the 2000 MPV minivan
models. These defects can lead to fuel leak which in turn may lead to fire. The
company's response is inspection and replacement of the affected vehicles.

Another recall for 2002 models show defect on the car's socket holder which affect
the fog lights and lamp. The heat from the fog light can cause the socket holder
to expand. Added expansion may lead to continuous vibration which may loosen then
wiring harness supporting the bulb holder leading to the separation of the fog
light casing. If the bulb socket and wiring harness dropped inside the bumper,
the heat produced by the bulb can continuously increase the temperature inside
the bumper causing uncontrollable fire. To solve the problem, dealers were ordered
to install a spring to prevent untoward separation and further problems. Mazda
