Mazda MPV Engine

For years, Mazda MPV has been using one of the most powerful engine in its class,
the 3.0 liter V6 24 valve DOHC with Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) system.
It has a power boost capacity of 2, 967 rated at 152 hp @ 6,200rpm and 271ft-lb
of torque @ 3,000 rpm. The fuel system makes use of a sequential multipoint electronic
injection (with knock sensor) that can produce a fuel tank capacity of 75 liters.
Paired with the engine is an equally powerful column mounted, 5-speed electronically
controlled automatic transmission. This top notch duo provides increased control
and optimum driving performance.
The engine is designed to match the car's size and driving dynamics. Yearly improvements
are done to make sure that it will match the changes for each year model. 2004
MPVs use the same engine that can generate up to 200 horsepower at 6200 rpm and
200 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. Together with the 5-speed transmission, it gives
off a fuel rating of 18/25 mpg both in highway and city use.
