2003 Mazda MPV
The 2003 Mazda MPV uses the upgraded 3.0-liter V6 engine paired with the five-speed
automatic transmission. Small as it may seem, the six seater minivan received
a top five-star rating for the Federal government's collision tests for front
and rear seat passengers and front and side impacts. For this year, LX and ES
are the two evolved models. Both are equipped with a 3.0-liter, 24-valve V6 engine
that can produce an average of 200 horsepower and 200 pounds-feet of torque.
Standard for LX are AM/FM stereo with CD player, Side-by-Slide and Tumble-Under
seating, cruise control, 16-inch alloy wheels, a tilt steering wheel with audio
controls and antilock brakes. ES comes with a sporty 17-inch alloy wheels, nine-speaker
audio with CD player and cassette, chrome interior accents, traction control and
leather-trimmed seats. The standard traction control is optional for LX. Added
safety is given by the Security Package for the ES which includes compass, outside
temperature gauge, auto-dimming mirror and fog lamps.
Seating and cargo configurations are flexible which provide hassle-free loading
of passengers and luggages. The sliding doors on both sides and the windows that
can be adjusted up or down provide much comfort. Tuning buttons and controls are
properly placed and are big enough to provide ease in operation. Over-all, the
car's features are made of high quality materials and excellent styling.
